WHAT DOES TOOLS IN TRANSIT INSURANCE COVER?
- Rhino will cover up to £7,500 for the cost of the repair, reinstatement or replacement of tools belonging to you or for which you are responsible if they are destroyed or damaged while being kept in your work vehicle.
- We will also cover your tools if they are being loaded in or upon, carried by, or being unloaded from your work vehicle.
- Tools insurance will cover you if your tools are stolen while being kept in, or unloaded from, your work vehicle.
- Cover includes damage to your tools from flood or fire-related damage while they’re in your vehicle.
- Overnight storage of tools in the vehicle is permitted, subject to security conditions, which include the requirement that the tools are locked in the boot, the vehicle is alarmed on the insured’s driveway or parked in a street fully visible from the window.
- Up to two claims in any 12-month period allowed under Rhino’s policy terms.
How do claims work?
If you need to make a claim, it’s easy. You can do it by email, phone call or by First Class post. You should make your claim as soon as possible after the incident, and make sure to keep the following handy:
- Your policy number
- The time and date of the incident
- The receipt for your tools (emails are fine for online purchases)
- Police crime reference number, for cases of tool theft
You must also be sure to report tool theft to the Police within 48 hours of discovery.
