WHAT DOES TOOLS IN TRANSIT INSURANCE COVER?
- Rhino will cover up to £7,500 for the cost of the repair or replacement of tools you own (or that you hire) if they are damaged or stolen whilst being kept in your vehicle.
- This policy offers cover whilst your tools are stored in your vehicle, as well as whilst they are being loading into or unloaded from your vehicle.
- Cover includes damage to your tools from flood or fire-related damage while they’re in your vehicle, as well as damages from accidents, and theft of your tools from your vehicle.
- Rhino’s Tools in Transit Cover offers protection for the tools kept in your vehicle overnight, subject to the necessary security requirements being met. These include your vehicle being locked and secured, with the tools being kept out of sight, as well as your vehicle being parked in a secure location (on your private driveway, behind a locked gate, on the same street and visible from the premises you are residing in overnight, etc.)
How do claims work?
If you need to make a claim, it’s easy. You can do it by email, phone call or by First Class post. You should make your claim as soon as possible after the incident, and make sure to keep the following handy:
- Your policy number
- The time and date of the incident
- The receipt for your tools (emails are fine for online purchases)
- Police crime reference number, for cases of tool theft
You must also be sure to report tool theft to the Police within 48 hours of discovery.
